Sleep deprivation is one type of condition where in the person experiences on not having proper sleep. It can be acute deprivation or chronic deprivation. The chronic type of deprivation usually causes weight gain or loss, clumsiness, daytime sleepiness, and fatigue. This also affects cognitive functions and and even the brain. However, in some cases for people, it helps them increase their alertness and their energy, and also, enhances their mood.

Insomnia is said to have reached epidemic proportions of different countries, and in here, people are becoming more busy. And thus, they are now prone to conditions of stress due to not having the enough time for rest. Having not enough sleep will usually result to some negative effects to the health of a particular person. Essential oils for sleep may need to be practiced for used since these are very helpful.

First is lavender. Among the family of mint, lavender is considered as the favorite. This is also one very popular form of the essential oils. A lavender is known to have the inducing properties for sleep which are being backed up by scientific researches. The effective ways in using this may include massage oils, sachets, pillow spray, lavender infused pillow, bath salts, candles, and sleeping masks.

Second is roman chamomile. This oil is consist of very light amount of floral aroma and it is also consists of relaxation properties. One way of reaping its benefits would include using it as a diffuser or it may be applied to the feet. When applying, use only a few drops which is diluted in the carrier oil. A few drops may also be added to your conditioner, skin moisturizer, or shampoo.

Third is the cedarwood. A cedarwood does not only contain the powerful qualities of being antiseptic, anti inflammatory, and expectorant, but also, it has the qualities for comforting, relaxing, and calming. The properties of having warm scent and aromatic woodsy makes someone feel like he or she is cuddling up with hot coffee and favorite book. Using it as diffuser stimulates pineal glands while releasing melatonin that is very necessary in a sleeping regulation. Few drops are applied to the neck, forehead, and wrists.

The orange oil helps to reduce the feeling of anxiety. Citrus oils of any types contain the properties for helping depression. A disadvantage in using this is it can cause photo sensitivity whenever a person using it is being exposed to light in 12 hours. So one good suggestion here is to use it at night. The abdomen is applied with few drops only. A soothing skin cream may be mixed together with orange oil and with coconut oil.

And fifth is valerian. This is also one of the very commonly used for sleeping. This can help in falling asleep faster and also letting you stay asleep. This includes grounding and calming properties. Apply this to the feet and to the wrists.

Using these naturally made essential oils alone or combining it with the other types can be one effective way for promoting sleep. Another thing is to realize that these may not work on you. It may sometimes work to other people but not effective to you.

Checking the oils always by qualified practitioners is important before using. To test them also important to ensure you have no allergies. Lastly, high quality must be bought for acquiring best results.
