Insights On Acupuncture And Chinese Medicine Professional Issues

By Deborah Reed

From the early days, people visited traditional healers or specialists for medical help. A popular method around the Middle East that still remains popular is TCH also called the traditional Chinese medicine. This method involves acupuncture, physical therapies, and tai chi. The techniques address mental, physical, and emotional health among other matters affecting your life. Consequently, acupuncture and Chinese medicine professional issues offer an ideal platform from which assistance on life-threatening issues are obtained.

According to these types of medications, diseases and illnesses are as a result of energy differences and deficiencies in the body organs, if there is an energy deficiency within an organ, the organ will not be able to perform its functions in a proper manner and this is what causes illness. Due to this imbalance, pain may be felt in the affected area. Acupuncture has been associated closely with TCM due to the steps and techniques used when administering treatment.

Other techniques used in treatment in TCM include acupressure, massage and magnet therapies, tuina, tai chi, cupping and gua shua among other techniques. These techniques play an important role when the patient energy is retained. These treatments believe that energy is transmitted through meridians to different body organs. The theory of a water pipe is used to demonstrate how these meridians work. If a water pipe becomes clogged, water is unable to flow. In the same manner, when clogging occurs in the meridians, energy does not flow to the respective organs.

In humans, the meridians may be blocked as a result of factors such as psychological, physical, or emotional injuries, poor nutrition, or stress. When the clogged materials inside a water pipe are taken out water flow is usually restored. This theory is, therefore, applied to the meridians to unblock any clogs and blockages to restore the natural and free energy flows in the body.

These techniques use needles to administer treatment. These needles are inserted into the affected meridian areas. The needles may be left for some time and in some cases, they might be manipulated using hands or through electrical connections. These needles in most cases do not cause discomfort but a small number of people will indicate slight pain feeling. During the procedure, patients report that an energy burst has been felt causing them to relax.

These treatment methods have been in use for a long period of time and have been effective and are not associated with any side effect. Conditions such as back, neck, dental and joint pain are well addressed by these treatments. Other body functions like digestive, respiratory, gynecological, skeletal, muscular, neurological, skin and emotional problems get their correction done properly by the treatments.

The advantages of the medications include not having to undergo surgeries when experiencing various problems. They are as well noninvasive and present none or little side effects when compared to surgeries that require one to take some time to recover and requirements to observe certain rules.

However, these treatments and medications have certain cons. First, herbal medicine in some countries is used as supplements, not as medication which lowers patient belief towards using them. The materials and products used are safe for some people and to others are not. In addition, sterilization and detoxification of the needles used in the process are not guaranteed. This makes FDA discourage use of such non-invasive methods.
