Helpful Homemade Underarm Odor Solution

By Melissa Wood

Body odors are natural but they should remain mild. They are most prevalent in folded and concealed areas, with underarms being the most vulnerable because of the possibility of sweating. Unless it is a health condition, you need to find an underarm odor solution that works for you. This does not mean expensive procedures. There are excellent natural solutions that you can embrace to remain fresh scented all day.

The first remedy is to identify the source of the smell. This is an easy puzzle to solve especially if you have no health condition to deal with. Regular showers and change of cloths will solve your problem. This helps you to escape the trap of excessive consumption of medication. When the remedy does not lie in ordinary interventions, other measures need to be taken.

Underarms smell because of the presence of moisture. Baking soda has proven effective in keeping this area dry and fresh smelling. This means that the smell will not be created. Baking soda also acts as a natural deodorant beyond keeping bacteria away from your skin. It is prepared by mixing with a tea spoon of lemon juice for application at the affected area. Allow a few minutes before taking your shower.

Body stench is usually caused by pH imbalance especially on the skin. A remedy lies in the use of apple cinder vinegar. It restores balance on your skin, leaving it dry and with a pleasant smell. The solution is soaked in a cotton ball and applied directly on your armpits. Allow it to stay for two to three minutes before washing it off in the shower.

Lemon offers your body acidic properties that regulate your pH, especially on the skin. With a balanced pH, bacteria that cause the stench cannot thrive below your arms. Lemon is easy to use because it does not require complex preparation procedures. You just cut the lemon into half and apply it directly. Leave the lemon on the skin for a few minutes to dry before taking a shower. This allows the active ingredients to sip into the skin for more effective results. Lemon needs to be diluted for people with tender and sensitive skins.

Rosemary is known for its deodorant properties. It inhibits the growth of bacteria that causes the foul smell and also neutralizes the stench when it is too strong. It has a naturally appealing scent and provides zinc whose deficiency will cause your skin to smell.

Reduce your stress levels. There are glands in the body that produce a milky substance made of lipids and water. This substance is food to the stench causing bacteria and will therefore escalate your problem. Relax using such techniques as yoga and meditation to keep your body calm. You may also exercise and leave places that leave you with tension. This will be good for the overall health of your body.

There are many other options depending on your condition and capability. If the stench remains even after trying out these remedies, it is time to consult a medical specialist. Avoid medication unless prescribed because it leads to dependency. Natural remedies shield your body from harmful side effects.
