There are several reasons why processed foods should not be eaten in general but what would interest every athlete about it is that it can lead to extra calories and heart diseases.

Among the drinks you should not consider is soda water. It makes a person gain extra weight fast and athletes will start losing their appetite for sports and training if this happens. Canned foods such as soups which have a long shelf life and high sodium content should not also be considered as feeding options.

Vitamin D and Calcium are examples and they are responsible for the growth and development of bones. That means few injuries, if any at all, will happen among those who value these items.

When exercising as an athlete, it is important to do it well. The longer you spend in your training, the likelier you will do better than the others. Use different kinds of drills so that you won't be stressing a particular group of muscles to the point that they get injured. You will need all groups of muscles to perform optimally during the event when you are called upon to showcase your talents.

Every athlete is expected to have adequate rest. No matter how healthy you eat, it is not enough to compensate for the rest you should have each day. Young athletes should sleep for about 8 hours every day to allow the cells to rebuild after a strenuous day. This is more so if they want to last long in their career.
